🥾 Hike & Chill – Challenge Hike: Ledge Spring + Jomeokee Loop
Pilot Mountain State Park
Take on a strenuous, rewarding hike with breathtaking views, fresh air, and a chance to connect with nature and community.
This hike is for experienced hikers ready for elevation, rocky terrain, and an unforgettable experience.
🍳 Post-Hike Brunch
After the hike, we’ll head to Jolo Winery (~10-minute drive) for a relaxed brunch and social time.

🌄 Hike Overview
Distance: ~5+ miles (round trip to Visitor Center)
Difficulty: Strenuous / Challenging
Elevation Gain: ~900–1,000 ft
Estimated Time: 4-5 hours (including breaks & photos)
Terrain: Rocky and uneven, with stone steps on Jomeokee
This hike combines the steady climb of Ledge Spring Trail with the scenic cliffside Jomeokee Loop, offering some of the best views in Pilot Mountain State Park.
🧭 Route Details
Start at the Visitor Center – Follow Ledge Spring Trail uphill through forest and rocky terrain.
Climb to the Summit – Gain elevation and enjoy intermittent viewpoints along the way.
Jomeokee Loop – Cross the gap between Big Pinnacle and Little Pinnacle, then complete the loop around the base of Big Pinnacle. Dramatic cliffs, rock formations, and photo opportunities await.
Return to Visitor Center – Retrace your steps down Ledge Spring Trail to complete the hike.
This creates a full challenging loop experience with epic views and a satisfying descent back to where you started.

Trees: Chestnut oak, Table Mountain pine, Pitch pine
Trail-side treats: Wild blueberry, huckleberry, grape vines
